A crockpot is a kitchen appliance that plugs in

whatever in and let it simmer away all day. For example, if I make a
chicken stew in mine, Veggies and meat go in by 9:30 and dinner is
ready by 6pm. (It really does cook that slow.) Most have knobs for low or
high temp, but even high would still take 4-5 hours. Sure makes the
house smell yummy!!

I'm not so happy about those yummy smells that you've evoked,
however, as I've just realised that I'm hungry, and it's 10.55pm here. I had
half a leftover pizza earlier this evening, but the magic of that little snack
has worn off!
