As far as people not helping, if I had a solution to that problem, I'd be
rich. Or at least my house would be clean. I can commiserate with you on
the non-helpful (and downright rude, sometimes) DH. Yesterday, the
dishwasher was full, just waiting for him to finish with his dinner so I
could start the load. So he takes his plate into the kitchen, and leaves it
on the counter *RIGHT NEXT* to the dishwasher. I mean, HELLO???? Where do
you think all the rest of the dirty dishes went?? Did the Kitchen Fairies
come and clean them all up when nobody was looking?? I don't *think* so.
So, then I call into the kitchen and ask really nicely if he would mind
putting his dish *IN* the dishwasher, and starting the dishwasher. He says
"Sure, honey, I'd be glad to!", like he's doing me this HUMONGOUS favor by
starting the dishwasher, because of course, nobody else makes a mess around
here except me, therefore I should be the only one doing the cleaning up.
And then he asks me if he should put soap in it. It was all I could do to
not go in there and strangle him right then and there. Of course, then *I*
would be the "moody" one. <sigh>
Anyway, Julie, I'll bet you appear very competent and non-needy (is that a
word?), so that's why nobody's rushing over to your aid. Everyone must
think you're doing a great job and have everything under control. <shrug>
Tell your husband to watch the kids while you take a nice bath...
