1. The Relative path should be ./ in your case, or empty. But its not a problem, as long as you see images, its working. Are you sure that allow_fopen is activated (in php.ini) ?
2. This is a problem, if you see the source of the scripts it means that php is not able to understand that they are PHP scripts, check your php.ini (for the CLI) against the php.ini I provide in docs/unix/php.ini (its from RH, but it the values should be mostly the same).
I think that it maybe is the "short open tag" thats not enabled.

Clearly, something is pretty broken. Can someone give me an idea?
