You could enable Logging/Debugging in setup, and let the poller run from cron, after that look at the logs in logs/poller*

Then we will be able to understand why it doesn't work when you launch it as the 'jffnms' user (cron).

You can also 'su' to jffnms and run the poller manually. Maybe theres something (SELinux, some weird IPTables user module, etc) that is preventing a non-root user from doing what the poller does.

I have several wireless access points on a remote private network that I need to monitor. Through discussions on the list and with other jffnms users, I have determined that the best way to do this to set up the gateway of this network as a host and then each access point will be represented by a TCP port interface on that host. In order to determine if the access point is up or down I am checking the content on the port to make sure the AP's web based configuration interface is up. The problem I have run into is that exactly every other time the poller runs the response is that the content is invalid, but it seems that if I run the poller manually for this host the content is valid every time. Any ideas on why this would be? At this time I don't have a regex configured for it to check the content against because as I understand it, if no regex is present it just looks for at least 20 characters to be returned. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
