Yes, it’s been that kind of day all the way around. I thought that Essentials was an antispamware though. I rather wish Microsoft would release a separate comprehensive Defender package for older systems, as they have done in the past with some small programs, but have no expectation they’ll do so. I’m getting by right now, as I presently lack a home Internet provider. It ain’t easy catching an infection when your isolated.

Windows Defender, which exists on Windows 7, was not an antivirus in that environment, but its functions and those of MSE were merged with the advent of Windows 8. Windows Defender is the antivirus program shipped with Windows after Windows 8, and MSE no longer exists there. Brian
