Hi Rhonda,
There are three or four things to do. Some of them are necessary and some
are merely added convenience. In no particular order they are:
1. Turn off Jaws's grade 2. Jaws won't do this automatically like the PAC
Mate does. Unless I customized my system it's NavRow 23.
2. Open the file in WordPad. I think it handles form feeds a bit better than
Notepad, and once you maximize WordPad it stays maximized.
3. Set Jaws to 6-dot-braille. This gets rid of those pesky dot 7's. The
script name is BrailleToggle8Dots. It is not assigned to a key by default so
use Keyboard Manager. I assigned mine to Navrow 16 since I never use that
key.
4. Navrow 17 toggles whether to move the active cursor when you use a
display movement key. For some strange reason turning this on is necessary
to eliminate wide margins.
This should give a reading experience almost as good as the PAC Mate. It
won't remember your location between sessions though so you'll have to mark
your position somehow before you close the session.
I think I've covered all bases: Turn off Grade 2, six dot braille, braille
moves active, WordPad. If things ain't pretty please say so because I think
there will be a cure for any remaining problems.
Have fun,
