Hi Mario, When you're searching for files using the start menu, if a file is the first search result, then it isn't automatically selected, and Jaws doesn't read it out. If you press down arrow three times, you'll move to the first search result, and you can then carry on pressing down arrow to move through all the results. Once you've selected the file, and if you want its path, then you can either: 1. open the context menu, choose open file location, and windows explorer will open at that location. 2. Or press shift+application key to open the extended context menu, and choose copy as path. You can then open a text editor and paste the path.
David. original message: Dave, that's what I thought what would happen, but nothing is spoken as I type a filename. searching for everything else works as expected. I suspect there's a setting somewhere that needs enabling,, but haven't got any idea where to look.
