actually, there can be at least two config.sys files. For instance,
if the person putting a computer together first installs dos then
windows, there may be one config.sys file but change it as you might,
the way the pc is configured by passes that file unless it is in the
windows\command directory. there may be two. one in the root
directory and one in the windows.command directory. the surest way I
know to make certain you are working with the right file is to use
sysedit. I've seen sys edit come up with a blank config.sys file even
though there was one on the hd because sysedit is looking in the right
place for it as far as windows is concerned.
