In SC7, with the remote control and a Squeezebox, the *only* way to start a Random Mix session is the Play button -- the right arrow doesn't start Random Mix. In SC7, with the Jive controller, the *only* way to start a Random Mix session is the center/Go button -- the Play button doesn't start Random Mix. I could see an argument for Right/Go and Play both being valid ways to start Random Mix, but not for Jive and the IR remote behaving completely the opposite of each other. And I think the Jive UI docs have it right -- when I see a ">" in a Jive line, I expect Go to take me to the next level down. I'd rather have to press Play to make music play.
