Hi, so I just received a Duet :) I believe it's a production-unit, although the boxing is marked (MPQ Sample S/N 0387), so my comments are accordingly.
First, it is a wonderful kit! Got a largish library and it's a joy watching the linear space/time-like behavior at work when browsing. I think the entire product line is very cleverly designed, and the Duet does not in any way fall short in that line up. Congratulations :) 1. On the boxing under 'System requirements', the text says the computer must run 'SlimServer'. 'SlimServer' is also used on the side of the box in the 'Squeezebox Controller' section. 2. There is no mention of a CD/DVD with software under the 'Package contents' listing on the box. I assume that a stable 7.0* release is provided. 3. On the side of the box, under specifications it says that the box includes a 'Maestro' controller. It might be maestro, but it is branded as Squeezebox Controller AFAIK. 4. The large numbers and letters seen when browsing should be visible a little longer and perhaps pop up faster. There are many reasons that it would be good to be able to see the big letters/numbers while having time to catch a glimps of the individual titles. 5. After fast-forwarding the natural ting would be that play resumed normal playback. On my unit I have to press pause? 7. Apart from internationally acknowledged test for patience and endurance, i.e. entering WEP-key, setup went smoothly. Perhaps its a good idea though for the end/new user experience, that firmware/software upgrades are not forced initially. It might be slightly frustrating to have to start by upgrading SqueezeCenter, Controller, and Receiver as the first thing? 6. I've seen some occasional erratic behavior when coming out of sleep, and also some strange reboots. (Not very useful debugging info, sorry) 7. Even though I've just upgraded the controller firmware, it still says that new firmware is available (under setting) 8. When going into the wallpaper settings the current wallpaper is not marked (none are).
