The replacement wall-wart arrived today (thanks Mickey!) so it's time for the second attempt.
20:00 Non-Geek opens box. Worries about her nails. (It's all OK though) 20:01 NG finds another white box. Still no chocolates! 20:02 The UK adapter fits the new wall-wart. Huzzah! 20:04 Pause for food. More courgette, would you believe. (No, we didn't plan it deliberately) 20:12 The Receiver is plugged in, has a red light flashing. Non-Geek resists the urge to press the button anyway 20:14 Non-Geek restarts the controller, just like it says in the instructions. Geek doesn't think it achieves anything... 20:16 SBC has found the SBR. The new device has the name "Squeezebox 3". Non-Geek is impressed - it is indeed our third Squeezebox 20:17 SBC finds our SqueezeCenter server 20:18 SBC decides it needs new firmware 20:24 NG still hates the clicking noise. Isn't keen on the "whizzy-round thing" either. (Scroll-wheel to the rest of us) 20:25 Music! Non-Geek randomly chose "The Luxuries of Brian" - good choice! So that's it. Total installation time (ignoring the wall-wart problems) approximately 22 minutes. Not bad at all.
