One of the strongest contenders was Squeezebox Maestro, which was, sadly, to close to several trademarks. Other names that were considered were Squeezebox Jive, Squeezebox Baton, Squeezebox Groove (which I still my favorite), and a bunch more. We also looked at made-up names (like Pentium or iPod), but those are tough to do well. In the end, while boring, it is easier and far less risky to use descriptive names.
