The nice man at Logitech support, Netherlands has now accepted that the numbers he requires do not exist and is going to use the MAC address on the Transporter as a unique identifier instead. He said that they will send me a remote within 8 days. It remains to be seen if it is a backlit one though, as the backlit remote does not appear on the Logitech product list he was referring to, and neither does the Transporter.
