But this is going to change soon.  We expect SqueezePlay to displace  
SoftSqueeze as the desktop player of choice over the next few months.

Richard is working hard to add local playback capability to all  
supported platforms (Squeezebox Controller, Windows, Mac & Linux  
desktops, etc...), and precompiled binaries won't be far behind.

If you do have windows development skills and want to help us speed up  
this process, by all means pitch in!
