Official explanation (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezePlay_7.4_Release_Notes#Press-to-Play) is that if something is "playable" and has the ">" on its line (which I think I've noted looks a lot like the universal Play icon) and you press Right or Center, it will NOT play.
Generally, ">" seems comparable to the "..." ellipsis in Microsoft Windows indicating that the control will bring up a submenu or dialogue box -- in SqueezePlay/Controller, if there's a ">", selecting it *generally* will bring up another screen. And that's why the "playable" hint makes sense, right? -- if it's playable and there's no ">", then there's no additional menu, and selecting could only mean you want to play the thing, right? But that's not the case in the context menu. Start at My Music, and drill down through an artist so you're looking at an album. Tap add so you get the context menu. Among the choices are "Play" and "Save to Favorites". Both have the ">" indicator. Select "Save to Favorites" and you get a confirmation screen -- as I would expect, given the ">" symbol. But if I select "Play", there's no additional screen. I go straight to the Now Playing screen. Not only is the Controller UI in 7.4 not consistent with the Classic/Boom UI, it's not internally consistent. :-( -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ free plugins: http://www.tux.org/~peterw/#slim AllQuiet BlankSaver ContextMenu FuzzyTime KidsPlay KitchenTimer PlayLog PowerCenter/BottleRocket SaverSwitcher SettingsManager SleepFade StatusFirst SyncOptions VolumeLock ------------------------------------------------------------------------ peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68914 _______________________________________________ jive mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/jive
