So, just to clarify, the suggestion here is make HEAD use jdk1.5 with an
eventual JMeter 3.0 release.  Leave the 2.1 branch to be jdk1.4
compatible and make continuing 2.x releases from there.

I'm willing to do, say, weekly merges from 2.1 to HEAD to support this.
Most of my new work would go in HEAD.  I would expect Sebb would mostly
work in 2.1, and Peter would probably split his time.  Eventually, we'd
have two concurrent JMeter versions - 3.x and 2.x.

How do people feel about that?
