    Hi all,

there are enough changes to justify a new release. There are however a few
outstanding issues that need to be solved before the release:

    1. it should be checked wether all strings in Jmol are internationalized
(i.e. making use of translate()...) (Egon)
    2. a displaying bug in the performance patch when doing (faster) rotation
        with "wire frame rotation" (Miguel)

I had already this kind of problem with the previous version on a Debian
Sid (unstable) and after rotating for some time, the JVM crashed. But
this was Debian unstable so I thaught it was "normal". However, it is
highly probable that these two bugs are not related but I will
investigate more...

    3. the crystal window is often marked available (menu item not grey) when file
does not support crystal data (Fabian)

Actually, this issue was already discussed when I sent the crystal patch
for the first time. I decided to make the crystal dialog always enabled
because a user may want to use a simple XYZ (for example) file
containing the unit cell atoms and then add the necessary information to
generate the crystal. For example the site
http://cst-www.nrl.navy.mil/lattice/ provides XYZ files for a bunch of
crystalline structure and crystal information can be read on screen.
However, as ShelX is now supported, it may be more logical to transform
the XYZ file into a ShelX by incorporating the crystal info.
Merely a question of philosophy.

Also, Jmol has to be tested before release. This is normally done by the
    release manager.

I would like to do the release in about two weeks. New code is welcome, but
please be responsible for possible new bugs. In principle new code should not
produce known bugs in the next release.
If you encounter problems with the code, please file them as bugs on SF. Mark
them with highest priority if you think it should be fixed before release.
