You're right, I was reusing an existent folder. Doing it with a fresh one, the 
compressing 
message is logged OK.

Ah right. That's a frequent nuisance. I will check those. It is possible that 
the template does 
not specify character code, but even doing so there may be problems in Mac, or 
in local vs. 
server, so the safest way is to use html entities. I know I have done so with 
the page footer 
phrases, but probably not with the others --particulary since they were moved 
from html to 
java.
Let me fix the translations, that will likely be the only thing needed.
