Here is the answer from the wiki administrator: Dear Alexander, on upgrading to 1.16.0 I did nothing special to Jmol. However, I do seem to remember problems with the php scrips associated with reCAPTCHA (I use php: 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.5) so I am not surprised by your problem. Note: I also use StubManager Version 1.0.6. One of the guys in the mediawiki irc channel told me. he got jmol running in no time. though I cannot confirm what versions he used. And as you can see carl from the wiki says he did nothing in particular.
