That is a good bug.

My *guess* is that it is not widespread.

1. It seems to me that this could be perceived as a security problem ...
there certainly is some type of inappropriate interaction going on between
web pages. Therefore, I think that if it were to occur that the vendors
would take it seriously.

2. I believe that this type of circumstance could easily happen
frequently. Not normally with applets as large as Jmol, but with smaller
applets, like menu systems & UI controls. In large web sites one could
easily have these types of small applets duplicated. Therefore, it seems
to me that if it were to occur frequently on major browser platforms then
it would have been corrected.


As you may recall Safari is based upon Konqueror. This sounds similar to
some of the JavaScript/applet problems on Konqueror ...

Q: Is this only a Safari issue, or does it occur on Firefox as well?
