Here are my test results, Bob:
Firefox on Win98: works fine.
Netscape 4.8 (I know, not supported, but sometimes useful to give a
meaningful javascript error report): first try, no errors, no contents to
window. Second try, worked fine. Third, 4th, Nth tries, empty window
(except for the first line, but you can close the window) rather like the
original behavior in IE.
Internet Explorer on Win98: I get a javascript error (yes, even after
clearing the cache):
Line 11
Char 1
Object expected
Code 0
(inscrutable, typical useless error report for IE).
When I click OK to acknowledge the error, the contents of the window are
displayed and work fine. I only see this error because I have my IE set to
show all errors. When you see an error in the status bar, and click on it,
you get this dialog that has a checkbox "Always display this message when a
page contains errors". I keep it checked.
So, it works, but with a (harmless?) error.

Problem solved. The problem had to do with my using multiple
document.write() calls while creating the new pop-up window HTML. When I
collected all the write calls into one single call, the problem
disappeared (for me). Please double-check at

using IE. There should be no prompt, and the pop-up examples should load
just fine.
Thanks.
