I have found out that when 'orthographic camera' is selected, one

leave it as it is. So, I had to learn another software in my busy

but it's OK. Thanks again.
hi Sinasi,
I have seen this problem with the orthographic camera as well, and
not just in Jmol-generated files. regarding POV-Ray in general, the
manual (online at <http://www.povray.org/>) is actually a very
helpful resource.

I have two observations which I'd like to mention about the Jmol
and POV-Ray relationship. After some scripting etc I obtain my
crystal structure on the Jmol window and set perspectiveDepth
off. Then I open the dialog box for POV-Ray Rendering, checkmark
'Image size', Width=1024, Fixed Ratio=4:3 and I see in the Height
window a flu 768, which is fine, but when I punch 'Go!' nothing
happens. [1st Q: Is this a bug and can it be fixed easily??]
We need to know more about your system configuration.
Windows XP
I have only launched PovRay on Linux, but I think that others have
used it on Windows.
I have used Jmol export to POV-Ray on Mac OS X, and with good
results, but never directly - I always save the file from Jmol and
then open it with POV-Ray. I never configured my path to the POV-Ray
executable correctly. too lazy. ;-)
to end with some well-deserved kudos: whomever is responsible for
the POV-Ray export code in Jmol, you did a wonderful job IMO. the
exported file is clear, concise and (best of all) well-formed,
despite the problem with camera type noted by Sinasi. the
reproducibility from Jmol to POV-Ray is excellent; the same can not
be said of many other mol vis programs (even the non-free types).
thank you!
