I think it is a problem with all applets -- this combination of OS and browser messes up in the identifying of an applet on a pop-up window and loses the capability to deliver commands to it. If I am wrong about that and there is a work-around, please let me know. --------------------
You are wrong. My own Protein Motif site uses the jmol applet in a pop-up with scripting, and this works on Mac Safari and Firefox (and used to work on Opera). Doolittle, my server, is cut off from the outside world as they are recabling our Dept today and tomorrow. I'll look at the code of the sourceforge pop-up and try to get a working version, which I'll mount on a personal web server later today, I hope. That whole page needs urgent editing, refering as it does to the forthcoming v. 10.0 when the demos are running 10.2. Is anyone responsible for it, or is there an inter-regnum problem - has Miguel moved on to other things perhaps? Incidentally, the demo controls for the background colour do work (demo/jssample1)- perhaps they are obscuring everything for some reason. Another point, the applet seems convinced I am running Leopard. Hope Steve Jobs doesn't find out. Finally, I the url Bob posted the other day in response to my query gave me a directory listing.
