I wrote a long message and Bob replied: <quote>
I need to be clear whether we are talking about the "interactive" scripting documentation at a) http://www.stolaf.edu/people/hansonr/jmol/docs or the library examples at b) http://jmol.sourceforge.net/jslibrary/ Both have pop-up windows. Are both malfunctioning for you, David? </quote> Whoops, sorry, I was talking about (b), which although is something that should be addressed (further below) is not Bob's responsibility and is not what this thread was about, which was (a). As regards (a), which has nothing to do with the Jmol.js checkbox etc. LiveConnect thing, but is demos of the scripting commands: in Safari (latest version of everything) I get the pop-ups and the molecules loading but the links do not work. (in Opera they do not either) In Mac Firefox, they do. The ones I tried were moveto, restrict, color etc. (btw his pages validate). Because of the way in which the links are implemented (via javascript calls to methods I can't see) it's impossible for me to suggest an explanation, but that proposed by Bob may well be correct. It's unfortunate, as the facility he is developing is excellent and will be most useful. As regards my concern - the official Jmol sourceforge page on the javascript library - does anyone know the situation regarding current developer responsibility. I know people are doing this voluntarily, I know people are busy, but the project is selling itself short if it can't present what it already has properly. (I suspect part of the problem is the decision to make the sourceforge pages multilingual. I have a website with a French version, and it's a real pain to get a French native speaker do the updates. The answer is, I'm afraid, just do it in English - I do read all the languages represented (including Dutch) - but English is the language of science).
