Absolutely true, I switched to French and all was as expected in 11.1.31
I doubt this will trouble Bob for long.
I'll check .32 - uploading to CMS is not as simple as to a ftp server.

Apparently, changing the language enables again the surfaces and animation menu.
I am preparing the release of 11.1.32, can you test it to see if the problem is
fixed ?
