But I would say that "set showKeyStrokes" should then also be the default because it is problematic to type blindly. (Although only short commands fit into the applet at the default font size.) And this might also help to make this feature more obvious to the user. I noticed that the key stroke text removes any echo text that is currently placed at the bottom left. I think it would be better if the key stroke text would work like a named echo, not interfering with any (maybe important) existing unnamed echo. I agree with Steven that it should be possible to switch it off. This would enable to prevent entering commands if the popup menu is also modified/deactivated. (Which might sometimes be desirable for teaching purposes.)
