Turns out this isn't possible, I was hoping that by simply changing the
colour in the image I could get it back to its original colour. For example
if after the stereographic option had been selected a Yellow image to turn
red, then using Green would turn it back to yellow again.

To demonstrate this I used a basic colour wheel:

Then applied the "Red + Cyan Glasses" option which resulted in the colour
palette being reduced to either tones of cyan or red:

Therefore it is not possible to display a yellow as it is not an additive
colour model but rather a reduction of colour available.

I am sure there are cases where you might want your image to maintain its
colour e.g. logos, legends or usability reasons. 

Should I maybe convert this thread into a feature request?
