I'm not sure where the previous discussion of Collada files stands at this 
point. I do recall that Bob put a Jmol conversion on his todo list.

Recently, I decided to write a children's book using Jmol ---> Collada 
conversions to introduce rotatable models into an iBooks Author project. The 
following page from Robert Lancashire explains how to pull this off. This may 
be common knowledge, but I thought that I'd pass it on just in case it's not:

Scroll down to 3D models. The procedure is a bit of a pain, but it works, at 
least for the small models that I'm using.
