As far as I can tell the only solution is an upgrade of Safari. Something
they did recently is causing this.

there is a comment that a WebKit crash causes a message and then refreshes
the page.
I wonder if a temporary solution to that by Apple programmers has been to
just remove
the message and let the page refresh. It would be a very reasonable and
clever "solution."

So my bet: This is a WebKit crash. It is probably happening with Jmol
because we are
using  a lot of memory for JavaScript code. Maybe one of the largest
JavaScript implementations
out there. I don't know.
