Ouch!  I bet my father would sympathise (if he was still around).  He
ruptured his quadracep muscle when he was young, playing basketball, and it
was never fixed properly.  He had a big hollow in his leg where the muscle
should have been, and a big lump above where it had ended up!  Very bizarre!
He still carried on playing sport though (and at a representative level) so
take heart!

Take care of yourself, and be sensible on those crutches  - a friend of mine
swears you get the best seats in bars and restaurants if you're on crutches,
so there is a bright side!
