I agree Alison. Have always felt bitter and resentful that Janis did not and was not getting the recognition that I felt she deserved. But at the same time I didn't and don't want something to come out that will taint her memory or not be true to who she was. Have always been really protective and defensive where Janis is concerned. Back in small town texas they would make fun of her when they heard her sing. I would explode. Could not stand it and could not understand how they could not "get it." Felt as if it was me they were making fun of and in a way, it was. "little girl blue"-"I know just how you feel" --and I knew that she did. > but lily taylor...she'd come really close. the only > other person i think that could come close to her > energy is ani difranco, who doesnt act. as far as i > know. Yes, Lily would be good. She is one heck of an actress. (Anyone else noticed how actresses now are called actors. The word actress is out. Is that feminism or what? What caused the change?)Haven't heard of difranco. going to have to check her out. Said > > Jennifer Tilly She better not be Janis. Ugh! No way. > > IIIICKKKK! i hope she plays a hot dog vendor, or some > equally unimportant role. i can't get over her voice > or lack of acting ability. She could be Peggy Caserta I suppose. Haven't liked her since she allowed herself to play that awful role in the remake of "the getaway". Repugnant. The scene where she taunted her husband made me physically ill and even now thinking back on it, I am revulsed. Hollywood went too far with that one. > > > and Sam Andrew and others to be announced. Never heard of her either. Was hoping the collective and seemingly all knowing intelligence here would have the answer. take care, mack np: Carole King -Thoroughbred (courtesy of the sweet south american gentleman Wally Kairuz)
