In 1986 when I was in Copenhagen, Denmark, for a conference, we were taken out one night for dinner at the Mongolian BBQ. It was just as described - you picked out your own ingredients - vegies, meat, sauce - and the cooks (there were several) prepared it for you. They used a flat grill surface though - like for making hamburgers in a restaurant. It was the tastiest "stir-fry" I have ever had. I'm glad to know such places exist in other parts of the world as I would like to eat such a meal again someday.
