last night on tv there was a program about banned music(in this country). Singles
by NWA were amongst them. There was talk about the lyrics etc and how offensive
they were. (this was not a program supporing the bans). Anyway, it seems that the
rap that most people seem to object to is called 'gansta rap' and not the usual
rap. (and was equally disliked by black people)
However, there was a comment, echoing a similar one made here, that I still find
offensive, that those of us who dislike the sound of rap, dislike it not becasue
it is an unpleasant sound but because we are racist. crap.
