She has created a number of incredible and outstanding prior albums without the assistance of Mr. Klein, thankyouverymuch. And she is not just now starting to explore her "Minnie Riperton" soul side, either. She has always had the range of Minnie and has always showed it off beautifully. "Carving her niche" blah, blah
BAH!! Kakki, getting increasingly crankier in her old age ;-)> LOL Kakki and "hi!"! I'm glad you acknowledged that I didn't write that review, but rather, was just the messenger. Phew! ;-) Since I'm not familiar enough with Julia's body of work, rather just a few of her songs, I wish I could have gone to Julia's show in Portland tonight so I could give you better conversation on this apparent idiot reviewer's review of Concrete Love and Julia in general. I just don't have the time (or can afford) all the great shows coming to town, one right after another, for the next few months. (Like Lucy K, John Gorka and Cheryl Wheeler are at the Zoo tomorrow night and I opted to try to catch that one since I'll be within a mile from that venue at 5:30 and my drive home from there is such a bitch at that time of night. Hows that for lazy? Might as well go to a concert rather than fight traffic to get home to fix dinner. lol) Anyway back to Julia, KINK is going to be broadcasting a live set Julia is doing at a local Starbucks tomorrow, so I'll make sure to listen to that short gig with your "blah, blah, blah" dissing of that reviewer in mind. "Thanks, Kakki!" in advance, for the smiles I know I'll be wearing! AND A great big "hi" back atcha Coyote Rick! (For any of you listers that don't know, this guy is an absolute sweetheart!)
