Suze and Mia, I can't say I really liked "Seasons In the Sun", but it did
have a catchy tune which everyone in high school sang. I just had to look at
the lyrics again to see what a maudlin song it really was. A song about
premature death with kind of a happy melody.

"Goodbye, Papa, please pray for me
I was the black sheep of the family
You tried to teach me right from wrong
Too much wine and too much song
Wonder how I get along"

Big frickin LOL!!!

Upon further research (I must have the same job Muller does:~) ), I found an
article on *POP CRINGE MUSIC* which mentions Terry Jacks "Season in the Sun"
along with Dan Hill's "Sometimes When We Touch", Bread's "Diary", England Dan
& John Ford Coley's "I'd Really Like to See You Tonight", Morris Albert's
"Feeling", David Geddes' "Run Joey, Run", and even "Babe" by Styx. These are
all songs I listened to on the radio and sang along with the rest of my
friends. Mind you I never bought any of the albums (okay, I do have Bread's
Greatest Hits), but these were all fun songs that I enjoyed back then.

I agree with the article when it stated "For all its flaws, Cringe Music has
one redeeming feature: It reaches everyone. You may respond to it negatively,
but you respond to it."
