I dunno if a size/post limit is really necessary - but your reminder about the politics list is a good one since I'd completely forgotten it's there. I was about to suggest a politics sub-list as it happens...
And you're also right that the posts giving insight into people's lives are lovely - sometimes sweet and heartwarming, sometimes less so, and heartrending, but those are the posts, I think, that give this places its main sense of warmth and community. I'd hate so to see a size or post limit damage that while at the same time restricting political (say) threads to a minimum.
It's particularly important that the warmth and community doesn't go away: the link between that and the feelings that Joni's lyrics evoke, or the situations with which her lyrics resonate is what makes the NJC side of the list tick as far as I'm concerned.
I've marked this NJC now, as, whatever happens here doesn't actually impact on the Joni-onlies very much, particularly the things I've mentioned...)
