For some reason I think this thread ran a couple of
years ago but there's no reason not to renew it!
I drive a 1995 Chevy Cavalier coupe (2 doors for the
non-auto-speak types), purchased new with 50,650 miles
on it now, colored that funky "turquoise," sun roof,
cruise control, five on the floor. I like gears
because a dyke needs gears in her life! ; ) Really,
it's because:
1) it's just more FUN to drive a stick!
2) if the brakes fail, I can at least gear down
without ruining my transmission, and
3) I so dislike driving behind people who drive cars
with automatic transmissions -- they seem to
constantly be engaging the brake! -- that I refuse to
be one of "them."
