The capital letters in your message [contraVERSY, conTROVersy] made it look like
that's the part
of the word that is stressed, and my point was only that I stress the first syllable.

Does it? I wasn't trying. It just came naturally.
I was trying to describe more of a long o sound rather than an ooh sound, like in
blue. I think
I'll just say it the way Lori herself does (or at least try to) and what was that...

I didn't know that. I would miss the satisfaction of saying that full uuuckkkkk sound.
