According to my first wife, who was Hong Kong Chinese, Chinese(with all its dialects) is the hardest to learn and it was her first language! Thier 'alphabet' is over 600 charcaters and their words tend not ot have begininng and end sounds-just the middle bit. I took her word for it. bw colin
