I'm not sure that I understand your comment, Garrett...why is it strange that
Stevie is singing Woodstock? His soulful vocal can wrap beauty around
whatever he sings, and the lyrical message is certainly appropriate. "We are
stardust, we are golden, we've got to get ourselves back to the garden..."
there are not too many artists like Stevie Wonder who can unite and galvanize
people like him!
Did anybody else see the "Very Special Christmas" special last night on TNT?
I watched it and taped it for a JMDL pal, and I thought it was great! Stevie
did several songs, the strongest of which was the Charles Brown classic
"Merry Christmas Baby", which featured Wyclef Jean doing some cool
freestyling as well. Stevie of course played keys and sang, and broke out his
unique harmonica sound as well. Even my son said "That guy is AMAZING"!
And when the Special Olympics athletes came out, well I just turned into a
blubbering idiot! I don't make New Years Resolutions, but I will get involved
with this program in 2001...
