Just got back from the airport dropping my dad off and while we were in the
newstand I happened to see Kakki's discovery, Lisa Haley, on the fromt cover
of gig magazine. WHOO HOO go Lisa. I read a bit of the article and I am
very proud of her accomplishments. At Kakki's request, I checked out her CD
which led to me helping her get a couple of gigs here in Louisiana last Jazz
Fest. I wish we could get her on Louisiana JukeBox. I am going to get a few
copies of this magazine at the NAMM show and shove them down the JazzFest
booking departments throat (as well as get one to the Lt. Govenor Kathleen
Blanco. I wish her the best in the coming year. If any of you are into
Zydeco music, I strongly suggest you chek her out. She is far better than
alot of the bands we have right here in Louisiana cause she is an excellent
songwriter and there are alot of other elements that come into her music.
