I Finally went down to "Boorders" to check out the Joni Bio and spent
4 hours reading about the early years. Some of the his writing is
confusing and i wished he had some pictures for reference to the
things he was describing. He never really got it right about how Joni
just didn't disappear with a lot of other folk singers of the 60's
and
70's. It was because of her brilliant verse in her songs and the
genius in composition of the music in these songs.
My Favorite album is based on my personal history. I bought every
disc starting from the first till Hejira which is my pick at this
point in time I was haunting a lot of jazz/blues clubs in Detroit and
Pat Metheny and Larry Coryell Fan. When making long trips to Ann
Arbor or E.Lansing in the winter I would dream up Joni Skating the
Icy swales next to the freeways while I would play Hejira on tape.I
now have a two year old "Amelia " and I spin this cut trying to teach
her to say her name.Afer Hejira came out,I moved to New Hampshire to
an area that Culturally Devoid.
