Don't remember who wrote that, but I do have a couple
of thoughts on it:

Maybe youth are somehow supposed to have immature
musical tastes. I was Mr. Punk Rock in my younger days
(ok, I liked lots of other stuff too, used to confound
my punker friends by listening to Mozart and Bulgarian
folk music), but I've found my tastes both expanding
and becoming more refined with every passing year.

Children have very limited pallates for food (hot dogs
and mac & cheese anyone?), and usually grow to like
more varied foods as they age. Couldent a similar
thing happen to auditory stimulation? Intellectual
stimulation? Visual stimulation? Don't know, just
speculating.

Not that I'm outside of complaining about what passes
for music these days. The whole tendancy towards
stupidity in music (and pop culture as a whole) I find
distasteful and alarming. When I came of age in the
late '70's-early'80's, pop music was supposed to be
creative and intelligent. Think of bands like Talking
Heads, XTC, etc, full to the brim with ideas and
experiments.
All that has changed, stupidity rules the airwaves. I
can think of no reason whatsoever why a band like Limp
Bizkit should exist.

Oh well, enough on that.
What do you think?
