i liked horselips and i have that same album, the tain. but i unfortunately
have no way to play it anymore so it just sits there with a bunch of vintage
stuff from the 70's.

what i remember most about that concert was the crowd. it was outdoor in
dublin. and it was my first time out of the usa. i was maybe 15 or 16. and
irish kids scared the hell out of me. with a name like patrick mcfadden, i
don't know what i was so scared of then, but i was young. i remember some
rough looking boys in the crowd with bottles and my friends called
them...cider drinkers. they said to stay away from them in the parks cause
they'll rob you. then there was fight which started with a head butt and i
realized how quickly an irish kid could throw a head butt.

i too was in the throws of jethro tull at that point and i thought they were
like an electric form of jethro tull. they definately had a celtic ring to
them but they were much more electric. which reminds me that the hottest
band going at that time in ireland was thin lizzy and horselips live was like
thin lizzy doing jethro tull. and these guys i was friends with would yell
out loud......play some 'tin lizzy'

they used batons - sp. you know that tamborine / hand drum thing that was
really cool and gave them the celtic feel.

that's all i can remember and unlike mr. dulson, i never took notes so i
guess i'm lucky to remember that much.
