This may be, for you old-timers, worn territory. But, I have often wondered
why Joni feels it so necessary to ingrain the fact that she smokes so
indelibly into her public persona. It has always struck as ironic that
someone, who is capable of such wisdom and fortitude, and celebrates in verse
her phoenix-like ascensions from numerous life struggles - finds it so
compelling to advertise a personal habit that is so potentially self
destructive. Any thoughts?
