That's an interesting comment...I think both phrases would work, as Paul has pointed 
out the actual lyric is PRESENT tenses, but PLEASANT tenses would be an interesting 
twist on the cliche, more along the lines of Elvis Costello's or Lorenz Hart's writing 
than Joni's. Interesting lyrics they are, too...the song sounds so joyous, yet its 
partly a plea to get her lover to stay (or else she's training her dog!) to celebrate 
future mornings like the one she's currently enjoying...

I hadn't heard that (pleasant) in the Mendes cover, I'll have to go back and give it a 
listen. Further to that, I just picked a live '73 concert LP from an E-Bay seller in 
Brazil, so I'm anxious to hear the song performed in a concert setting...I would be a 
little concerned about a Brasilian transaction, but I just completed one that worked 
like a charm! (Beijos to my Brazilian friend...)
