<<okay, what does that line mean? >>
I think she's just talking about her social life with him and HIS friends...to put it
in context:
"Your friends protect you
Scrutinize me
I get so damn timid
Not at all the spirit
That's inside of me
Oh baby I can't seem to make it
With you socially "
Whatever makes their relationship work between the two of them doesn't translate when
they are in public (or removed from the world in which they feel comfortable).
That's my take on it anyway; I know from my own experience that I've dated women that
didn't necessarily "fit" into the other spheres of my life at the time...obviously no
one's fault, just the way things are sometime on the "social" level. Whether it's a
class difference, age, a socioeconomic one, racial, or whatever.
