I gotta jump in here and say whether you like Luke's playing or not, one
thing he is not is limited!
As a session player he would not have survived more than a few sessions and
as he's played on a good thousand, before and during Toto, well go figure.
If you hear that 'distinctive' sound it's because that's what was wanted by
producer and artist and that's what was payed for.

For me it's albums like that, not really what I want from Joni, that made
NRH such a fantastic record and a breath of fresh air.

I think I'm one of the few who also hates the VG8
