Oh, yeah, I know. There's been concern about how to finance Social Security for
a long time, which has resulted in some things being tried on a small scale,
such as the things you mentioned.

I don't know the answer to that, and definitely some solutions need to be
found. I just hope any changes made truly benefit the majority of people, and
not just (or firstly) the campaign contributors/banking industry, especially if
the changes are to the basic structure of the program.

With Dubya and the Republicans in office I don't trust that the interests of
the majority of Americans are of most importance. And, yes, if Democrats were
talking about changing SS drastically, I'd be wary and watchful too, although
not as distrustful of their motives.
