Last Friday morning got up "ahh no work today' loaded plenty of Joni
Tapes in the truck,Amelia and her day bag Diapers, wet wipes baby
powder etc. and hit the road for a 3 hour ride from Portland,Or to
the Newport Aquarium the former residence of a whale formerly known
as "Willy". On Hwy 101 South of Tillamook
"Home of the Cheese Cutters High
school football team." Paprika Plains came on which finally put
Amelia into a deep sleep which lasted through selected songs off of
DJRD and Hejira Finally she did wake up before the driving across the
Big green bridgeover the Harbour at Newport for the S&L version of
"Amelia". At only 2 and 1/2" she does recognize this song and says
"Amee song ". The Aquarium is really a nonbuiding after parking your
car native beach type landscaping surround and hide the building, you
only see an NW Timbered entrance portico and your inside. But the
best part is really outside which is a maze of created rocky hills
and pools for seals, otters and birds. The new attraction is the
former whale tank that you now walk thru in a 12 foot diameter
Plexiglass tube and is filled with sharks.
